Where's the "hash" on my Macbook Pro?

"Pound" to those of you in the US....

OK, I give up - where did they hide it?

I have a UK keyboard (I assume - bought it at the Mac store in the UK, and have a sterling pound sign over the "3".

No sign of a hash though! Is there an apple-key shortcut for it?

Try option + 3.. that gives me a £ sign on a US keyboard.

I had no idea the option key creates other symbols when you hit it w/ a number.
