Not sure if this is the appropriate forum, but I'm getting no answers elsewhere. I'm using MindJet's Mind Manager for Mac, version 6.0.548. An exellent program.

Our company uses a mix of Mac and PC, and I have no probem opening and editing .mmap files sent from a PC. However, .mmaps made on my Mac can't be opened by our PC users, and this is creating a major communication blockage for us.

If anyone else has run into this and has a tip or work-around, I'd really appreciate3 knowing it.

Thanks

does the same thing happen if you just open to view and immediately close files made on PC on your mac ( what I mean is can the pc people then veiw a file that you have opened but done nothing else to on their PC ..if they cant then the mac is generating ( on clos ) corrupted file headers ..if they can then it is generating different file headers ..

the pc owners could see the data differences by running windiff ( or other analytical ) software ..on two theoretically identical files ( one control on their machines ..and its clone which has been opened by you and then closed by you and repatriated to them ) ..

they would then need to strip the differences out before they could open them ..and then identify the common factors so as to be able to construct a macro to pre strip what you send them on your mac made stuff

there may well be a simpler work around ..but old hacker ways of thinking die hard ;-)

I checked the mindjet support site and found this FAQ in the MindManager 6 Mac section:

Can the Windows version open Mac version files?
Mindjet MindManager Pro and Basic 6 Version 6.1.809 and later are both designed to support files created in Mindjet MindManager 6 Mac.

Looks like you need to upgrade. :)
