Running an Apple monitor on a PC?

Anyone have any experience with the possible problems and pitfalls of running an Apple monitor on a PC?

The monitor is an AppleVision 17" (Sony trinitron flat tube, multiscan, etc), with, I'm told, an "adapter" for a PC. I'm guessing this is just a cable adapter, but I don't know. I don't have the model number yet. My PC graphics card has a standard IBM VGA DB-15 analog output.

It's just an adapter plug. I'm running a PC monitor on my home Mac with an adapter and no problems. Don't see how/why there would be a problem the other way 'round. The only real difference is in the connector pins.

I used an Apple monitor for 4 years on my PC with a special adapter. Best monitor I ever used and the color for grapics was imcomparable. I almost cried when it up and died on me. It kicked my current Sony's $$$ behind all day long.

If you can get it to work - you won't be disappointed.

Unless it's one of the grey/white Studio Display 17"s. I haven't heard anything bad about the AppleVisions, but the Studio Display 17: CRTs burn out bad. Mine had to go in for a new board less than 1 year after I got it, and it's already showing signs of doing the same thing again less than one year later...

I've heard it called something like "POP-dim-zoom" syndrome... If you've had it happen you know what I mean.
