What environments do you prefer?

I'm currently using an older version of BBedit and Dreamweaver (more BBedit than...) I'll be upgrading everything in sight RSN, OS X (buying new hardware) etc., but until then I need to improve the comfort/productivity level. Any suggestions?

Definitely keep BBEdit. The OS X version is great. I've been using it since OS X 10.0.0.

If you're up for an adventure in Unix, there are lots of tools in the Terminal for working with text (Pico, vi, more, etc.). These aren't trivial to learn, but are very handy, because they're practically guaranteed to be installed on any Mac OS X computer.

Thanks!

I've tried a couple of those, heck, even emacs... I'll keep them in mind when I move to the new platform (the big discussion - desktop G5, portable G4?)
