Hi - up to this point I had been using a PC running w2000 and outlook express to send a monthly update to a mailing list of approx 400 people.
The webpage would be an html page sent using the option to Send > Webpage in OE : the mailing list was a distribution list held within OE.
On moving to a Mac running OSX I don't see the options to be able to do this under either Entourage or Mail but it maybe that I'm just missing something......?
I'm aware you can send html email and complex html using an apple script but as the webpage is not pure html [created in dreamweaver..] this doesn't solve the problem...
If no native Mac software fulfills this task is there a 3rd party util which does?

many thanks

Martin

Hi Martin,

Welcome to WebmasterWorld and The Macintosh Webmaster forum.

I usually rely on server side solutions to run my mailing lists. So unfortunatly, I am not familiar with this topic.

Some previous discussions about it revealed some chalenges about mailing complex HTML with Entourage. I hope for someone to hop in with a viable solution soon.

Server side is a lot more useful, but if you want something client side, I recommend MailDrop by Freshly Squeezed Software. It makes it easy to do "merge" type mailings (IE you can say "Hey FIRST_NAME") and sends out individual messages. Very nice UI too. Only runs on OS X.

Martin,

What else besides HTML are you trying to send?

Mozilla is able to edit and send html email. Additionally, you can have mailing lists in the Mozilla address book. If you are advanced, you can edit the mailbox directly in eg. bbedit and modify the html before sending.
