Monitor Wierdness

Monitors keep going out.

My tower at the office is running three 22" Lacie Monitors. Now a couple times a day one of them will sort of blink, goes out for a second then comes back on. Not the same one every time either. All three of them do it. I thought at first it was a video card problem, but they are on two separate cards, 2 on 1, 1 on another.

Any body have an idea of what could be causing this?

I wonder if your power supply is having trouble keeping up with all that power. You might check the wattage.

Could also be dust (or bugs) temporarily shorting out the high-voltage power to the CRT. If this is the case, you should hear a "snap" sound at the same time.

I am not sure about that, but if you happen to run them at a refresh rate of 75 Mhz, you might consider increasing it to 85 Mhz and see what happens. I had all sorts of "Wierdness" when I used CRT monitors at 75 Mhz, including mainly shifts of all kinds.

It very well might be a power issue. I am running two towers, two printers, five 22" lacie montiors, and several peripherals off one line. More power Scotty...

The change from 75mhz to 85mhz is typically an issue caused by florescent lights.
