Safari Update Problems

Eudora, Safari weirdness

Updater prompted me to update Safari last night. Now when I click on a link in an email in Eudora 5.1, my computer tries to launch OS 9!

Safari is set as my default browser and Eudora as my default email client. Although I have OS 9 on this machine I have never used it.

Anyone else encountered this?

I did some browsing in some bug lists and I did not find anything yet.

Does this happen when you click on any link in Eudora?

Yes any email link. It trys to launch OS 9 and Internet Explorer for OS 9.

That seems very strange for a native OS X application, like Safari, to do.

I never have used Eudora on OS X (last time I have used it was on Mac OS 6). I understand this happened after Safari's update, but, could it be something in Eudora's preferences?

You need to change what browser Eudora will use for URLs.

Find a message in Eudora with a URL. Then hold down the Option key while you click the URL. Eudora will ask you what browser to use. Then navigate to Safari (or any other browser) and Eudora will try to use that one from now on.
