Your information is wrong!

And the right information would be...?

It seems like at least once a week I get a message along the lines of "You have incorrect information for my business. Please update ASAP!" with insufficient information.

Every once in a while, that's it. No information at all about which of the millions of businesses is incorrect.

Sometimes they will give a link to a page with 20 listings on it- again, not bothering to mention which one is wrong.

Then there are the semi-helpful ones who give me the listing information. The INCORRECT information (that is already on the site), but not the corrected information.

I have decided that from today, these people will get a response of "Your listing was updated with the information you provided."

grrrr.. Maybe a form to fill out might make that problem less oppressive?

People are stepping up the cluelessness a notch today...

Just got an e-mail along the lines of
"Please delete the listing at <listing URL>- the phone number is not correct. It is confusing customers and hurting us in Google searches.

Sincerely,
<signature, including phone number and web site>"

Looked at the page- the phone number is identical to the number in his signature. Looked at his web site- phone number is identical to the one on our page. Addresses match and company names match with our listing.

The only thing that doesn't seem to match is his version of reality...
