Hello! I have a domain example.com and have several locations with shops. So in my opinion it would be best to register all locations in Google places with the subdirectories like:
www.example.com/city-1/
www.example.com/city-2/
www.example.com/city-3/
and so on.
My problem is that this is exactly what I tried, but even I verified the locations by telephone, all of them rank very poor in Google places (on page 6 and beyond), while the subdirectory itself ranks without problem (for example on "keyword city-1" on position 8 - but after the places-results).
Could this be a problem of using subdirectories in Google places? Other domains I use which I registered the main-domain www.example2.com on Google places rank fine in Google AND Google places.
