Hi Everyone,

We had a Google map listing which worked perfectly, then our new dev posted a new listing or updated it.

Now the listing has been pending/giving the ineligible error ever since.

I have tried to list new ones (now I have several pending) then deleted all of them, even tried under a different account.

The Google Places Help is not giving us anything.

If someone has any advice on how to get around this we would appreciate some direction.

Thank you.

Check if your listing is as per Google Places Quality guidelines especially the Title of the listing. Also, an incomplete address can cause issues.
If you are using the Category feature, I would suggest try and pick from the options provided by Google in place of creating your own as this caused one of our listings to stay in pending state for a month. As soon as we changed to pre-populated category it got approved.

Thanks for the reply.

The new listing eventually listed, the old one at my previous address is still there but the account is deleted.

The problem is I am trying to get Maps to register my new listing to my website in organic searches. All my competitors have the tear drop under their sites. Funny thing is we are number one without a tear drop!

A matching address and phone number need to be on the pages of your website where Google can see them in order to help insure they match it up with the listing in Google Places.
