Pay Per Call for publishers

I just got approached by a major pay-per-call player to place per-call ads on one of our websites. Has anyone tried that recently? How did it work out for you as publisher?

We tried Pay Per Call a while back and the UK market was not ready for it. However, I'd say that iPhone users may be a great segment to target - but that means you need to be in a niche that gets mobile searches.

We found that people rarely picked up the phone, even when presented with really good results (or what we thought were good). We may try PPCall again soon, but my gut feeling is that people need more information than just a little text advert to make them pick up the phone (unless it's a company they know of or were searching for).
