UFindUs Bought by BT for £20 Million

This article [news.zdnet.co.uk] is one of many reporting the sale of UFindUs, an independent UK online business directory, to BT. UFindUs have many Local Search properties in the UK and around 300 employees. BT, the largest UK telecoms provider, is the former owner of Yell and re-entered the that market recently.

The figures that may interest directory owners include turnover at £14 Million and profits at £1.5 Million.

From approaches we have had recently, it looks as though several large companies are interested in picking up independents, a lot of consolidation looks likely in the next 12 to 18 months.
