Local Search Keword Category List

Looking for help assembling a list.

I imagine the type of list I'm looking for is a little tough to come by, but hopefully one of you can point me in the right direction or give me some ideas.

I'd like a list of categories...maybe out of the yellow pages, in order of advertising spend. So at the top of the list would be categories like Lawyers, Dentists, Plumbers, Escorts etc.

Something equivalent to going through the Yellow Pages, and counting the number of ad pages bought for each. Maybe the top 200.

Any ideas?

The Yellow Pages Association website has 2006 figures for lookups, you need to go to the resources section and then 'research institute'.

I would look deeper than that though as the list doesn't tell the whole story.

This earlier thread [webmasterworld.com] has figures for broader categories from 2005. It also covers the fact that online and offline trends differ.
