Mapplets: The Potential

The use of google mapplet to reach new audiance

Did anyone try to make/submit a mapplet/gadets to google? If so what were the results.

They do not take much time to put together, especially the gadgets if there is already local search related site in place just some javascript to hook up xml from your database to google maps. I made one, but it is very new and does not even have its thumbnail/screenshot updated yet so don't know how it will work out. But if google maps directory of mapplet reaches millions of users, as they say it does, a good mapplet should bring in considerable amount of fresh traffic.
