My town never had good resolution or color on google or msn but yahoo's is great!
Hypothetically, if I were working on a new website today with feature articles on outdoor locations, which map would I use?
Yahoo?
MSN?
Google?
Yes, it depends. I would be mainly rural or backcountry areas. The really cool images of downtown Portland. I'd want to mark points and possibly some lines on the maps, and have associated content.
I have some thoughts, but I will let others who have experience say what they reccommend.
Yes, I know the best answer is to have all three and it configurable through cookies and user preference, but I have limited time and a day job, so I may need to start with one.
The really cool images for places like Downtown Portland are not available in most backcountry areas.
In many ways, MSN seems to do the best at this, since the grayscale images in the national forest are pretty good.
Google doesn't do so well once it is outside urban areas. You can't zoom in very far out in the country.
Yahoo is in color and seems better than Google at places such as the national forests, not quite as good as MSN, but in color.
Then there are terms and conditions that I need to scrutinize more.
