Where is a Operating Manual for the CPanel 6?

Getting Started and Already Discouraged...

Let me start by saying this is my first post. I never had intentions of web design until I expanded my business. I hired a local designer that taught me enough in a week and the rest I learned on my own. Since then I started developing a nice web business around reselling domain names and collecting them for the future.

I recently decided to save money and host all of my accounts on a server I rented. It is CPanel6 and appeared to be easy from first sight. Wow was I wrong. I uploaded using FTP into my file and when I go to view it live it does not appear! I find a page that displays all of my sub domains instead. I accidently found my index page with an extension like mydomain.com:2028/frontend/home/md/index.html? I have no folders called front end, home or md so what's the scoop? It took 9 hours to upload several sites to learn I can not view them correctly. I use Claris 3.0 for table set up and Front Page for editing and hyperlinks. I was also told I could build a website with a database (MySQL) which I can not understand and can not simply find where I originally set my header, side bar and footers at. Any ideas? I have spent the last 2 days awake reading manuals online and everyones posts but nothing describes exactly what I see on my end.

I would like be somewhat efficient with all this server space since every other hosting I've had was simple and straight forward. I never used a control panel before so please go easy on me.

The Operating manual for Cpanel (they're up to Cpanel 8 now, so if you're using 6, you should upgrade quick) is old and pretty much useless. If you insist, though, it's available at [cpanel.net....] Even though Cpanel is commercial software, they handle it in a very laid back, 'support yourself' kind of way. They don't tell us what new features do, etc...

If you need some advice, you're free to sticky me. I run dozens of Cpanel machines and I've dealt with just about every problem imaginable.

I have to say that you don't sound like you're ready to be administrating a dedicated box, but if you want, I can at least try and sort out this FTP issue for ya. :)
