Hey everyone, I'm looking to get a new graphics card ( or fairly new ;P ). I have about $120 to spend on one. I was wondering, should I go a Geoforce 5200 or an ATI card? People have told me NVidia is BEST when using Linux. What do y'all think?

I'm not sure it's the "best", I haven't really used any newer NVidia cards with Linux, but I guess the big deal is that NVidia actually writes drivers for Linux. This means you're getting the driver from the people who actually make the hardware... which I would assume would mean that it would be a better performing, tweaked driver for the card.

Well, what are you doing with it? Primarly 2D productivity apps? Or are you playing games?

Either work fine with the various UNIX platforms; you'll need to select thr card that's right for your computing needs.
