I have been using Fireworks for creating and optimizing my graphics. What should I be using with Linux. I keep hearing about gimp and before I dig into it, just wanted a little feed back.

Yeah gimp is really amazing. It is a little complicated, but you could do a lot with it.

You may also want to check out ImageMagick (freeware), it looks like it has many features.

There's also high end commercial software for it (aka expensive) by Corel.

Thanks, It sounds like Gimp is the way to go. It does look like theres a pretty good learning curve , lots of pieces and parts .
