ok here it is, at the moment my company is all on ADSL at 256k

however i have been doing some research and have noticed that i could go to 512k unlimited plan for almost the same price with a static IP.

now we have a reseller account which costs us around $30.00 a month to have. At this current time we only have a small number of web sites hosting on its i think it is about 4.

my question is would it be viable to get the 512k unlimited adsl plan and host these sites from our office using a linux box.

If I were in your shoes I'd first find out how much bandwidth the current hosting is consuming. Find some way to measure your total usage then see if 512k is adequate.

Do you have some kind of stats (webalizer/mrtg)?

I wouldn't host a website on a DSL connection. DSL connections aren't great to start off with, and (assuming you're in the US) if there is ever a problem with the physical copper that your ILEC owns, good luck getting it resolved.

Telcos in the US aren't required to resolve problems with DSL circuits immediately like they are with some of the other tariffed connections (T1, etc.).
