Dillo - a super light weight *nix browser

It doesn't have many features, but man is it light weight. This little browser is only 200kb(!) of binary (300kb source). Rendering doesn't really compare to Mozilla or Konqueror, but it isn't horrible either -- and it is plenty fast. It gives a lot more visually than lynx and actually seems to use less memory at startup.

It is based on GTK but not dependent on GNOME.
If there is anybody who has an old 486 or p100 laying around with linux this might be something worth installing.

The little browser does ok with tables (browses WebmasterWorld fine), it has no java/js support and no frame support. The developers are working on frame support.

Here is a comparison via top, if you are using Xwindows then the lynx numbers would actually be higher than Dillo because the term window to run lynx isn't being shown.

If any of you are following the development of Dillo, you will be pleased to know that the CVS now supports cookies, and it looks like SSL is around the corner. With cookie support, this little browser is perfect for forum dashes (a.k.a. distractions from work ;)).
