When configuring a computer to act as a server would you expect to see performance gains by removing all hardware that is not required. For example if I was going to run a Computer as a headless server then I could remove sound, graphics and modem cards. I would also be able to remove all un-needed drives such as cd-rom and floppy drive. When a computer is stripped to the essentialy is there a noticable performace increase?
