Not much to give in discussion about this one. It's just been nice to have a resource for finding software equivalents, and thought I would pass it along.
This list mixes different maturity level software. I have a project (Which? Follow my profile) listed on it, next to really really good software, and my little pet program is just an alpha. I don't want people thinking I expect to be compared with those other software, and while I'd like so see the version (alpha, beta, production/release) etc. on each entry it's not really under my control.
Consider yourself warned.
littleman: I believe my response upon first finding the list was "Great googley-moogley!"
Thanks for posting the link :D.

It's strange, but I didn't received anything from you... I found this page accidentally by Google.

Everything is mixed - this is the biggest flaw of this table. I simply don't have time to place the marks like "beta-version", "don't updated for 2 years", etc... Hope that someday I will remake the table and do two versions: one - only with the real and popular software, and other - with everything mixed (as it's now :).
but I didn't received anything from you...
I sent mail to the first address at the bottom of the list a while ago. Maybe your spam filter ate it or something :)
I simply don't have time
Well, you're involving with a very cooperative community here. Sticky me if you'd could use some help. Also, the list has already some publicity - let's recruit a few more people. Mailing the developers of these software won't do any harm, and they could even give you first hand updates.
