Searching through my apt-cache I came across this. It is a console based utility that shows you all your computer's current connections and the bandwidth they are sucking.

iftop: display bandwidth usage on an interface
iftop does for network usage what top(1) does for CPU usage. It listens to network traffic on a named interface and displays a table of current bandwidth usage by pairs of hosts. Handy for answering the question "why is our ADSL link so slow?".

Wow littleman. This is great. I've been looking for a tool like this for a long time. Tried out a bunch but never came across anything I liked. Great find.
