Shared Server

How to setup a shared server?

Hello
I develop (using PHP and MySQL) from my home office using a dual set of machines for testing sites.
One runs only RH 8.0
The other runs in a dual boot environment RH 9.0 and XP pro

For practice purposes I am looking to teach myself how to setup a shared server
That should host (for experiment purpose again!)
say a given number of sites using their DN (Not IP based)
I am mostly interested in testing scripts PHP & MySQL driven
in a "safe mode: on" environment, which is most shared server setup.
I think it is quite an extensive question :)
Do you know of a place where I should look at?
Do you know of any tutorials?

I recommend two books, they are the best that I know of for setting up any red hat/apache server and I looked for months. Written by the best in the business.

1.) Red Hat Linux 8 Server, by Kabir

2.) Professional Apache or Professional Apache 2 by Wainwright. A wrox book.

3.) this or another Linux forum or mail list.

Everything you need to know about setting up a server and then some are in there, except advanced security topics and custom RPM's. Both on Amazon for 35 bucks each. They never leave my desk.
