According to our mates over on the betanews site, 5 days ago, Microsoft Edge for Linux was released BETA (.rpm and .deb)

I thought to giving it a go on my HP ProBook with Mint 20.1 Cinnamon 4.8.6 version Kernel 5.4 (intel i5) just to see how it all works out.
So far I'm liking the speed over Firefox. I also like that I can set the browser up to dump site data/cache and cookies when I end the session by closing the browser.

Firefox has been my browser of choice now for years, but I'm never above trying out new browser builds as they come along.
My web surfing needs are really rather simple. I rarely use a browser for super serious web development, I check for errors using other applications and what not, so I don't really dig deep enough into a browser to try and suit those purposes.

Linux devs have seemingly always been somewhat picky about what they put into the mix, citing the Google related package installation processes of open source chromium a while back, and how Linux devs threw a fit about them and leaving me with a dummy open source chromium browser package in the repos for 3 months last year might be a sign to me that they fully intend to treat Microsoft the same way should any funny business come rolling through the channels.

You can't get the BETA in the repos however you can pick your .rpm or .deb packages here -- (scroll to the bottom of the page if you're using a Windows box -- downloads for each appear at the top of the page if you're using a Linux box)

Curious, with all the browser choices (ala, most based on Chromium) today, have you stuck with Edge Chrome?

I gave it a go, but eventually went back to WebKit

Edge never really followed along as far as updates, and when I uninstalled it I had to go in and physically remove the ppa
