I have just reinstalled my local samba file server and have an issue with rights.
My home network has several pc's using linux and one using windows 7
Whilst I can access all files create, delete, modify with the linux pc's
The windows7 pc does not allow this it sees the files/dirs on the samba server as read only.

My temporariry fix is to chmod a dir 777 and then I have full access with win 7 but for obvious reasons this is not the sollution..

I have been using this for years and have never seen this?! I have gone over my smb.conf file and created 'smbuser for the windows machine but I am still stuck.
Can any body help me with an idea here.

Extra note maybe it is relevant:
My previous samba server was EXT3
and am now using
EXT4
This could be an issue maybe..?
