Are there bugs you know about that have yet to be fixed up in any distro of Linux? I was thinking about filenames that start with a dot being hidden from directory listings but I know that this eventually got changed to being a feature instead of a bug but I know that it originally was a bug. Any you know of?

Have you checked out the linux dev sites? Usually maintain both bug reports and bug changes. You'll have to pick your particular linux poison as there are divergent updates from time to time.

That was never a bug. It has always been a valid feature of unix/linux. Certainly for the past 30 years or more. MS has a similar "hidden files" but without the leading dot. It's easy to view the hidden file list: the option is in the View menu and often in the right-click menu.
