Triangle/saw/square waves

Hi all, does anybody know of a daemon or background process script or executable for Linux that can be used to play different pitch waves for certain durations, such as saw or sine or triangle waves? Thanks in advance

You should be able to find some simple command-line sample apps to do this if you poke around the documentation for ALSA and/or the various higher-level libraries for working with ALSA.

I wrote a pair of interfaces between ALSA and text-to-speech and speech-to-text libraries a while back. I don't have the code, though, as it was done on contract.

I do recall that I used one of these wave-generating sample apps as a starting-point for the text-to-speech interface.
