KDE 3 vs KDE 2

I want to know what's your experience with KDE 3. It just seems to me that it introduced too many bugs.

I am considering a switch back to 2.2.2, it wasn't so bad for me.

Btw I am using KDE 3.0.1 from Slackware packages, I was on KDE 3.0.0 from sources before but it was even buggier.

... or should I go for Gnome?

I've had no problems with it at all on RH7.3

Martin, this might be obvious, but make sure you delete or rename the KDE folders in your ~/ director -- .kde/, and I think there is one other? Anyway, the preference folders from KDE2 will mess with your KDE3 settings.

I haven't noticed any bugs in KDE3, but I am not in it very much.

I am using 3.0 on RH7.2 and RH7.3. The only problem has been once in a while the screen-lock and or sound will stop. We just have to log out and back in to solve the problem.

Thanks littleman, but I already did a rm -rf ~/.kde. It is much better now but not perfect.
