linux partition on win2k

i'm running win2k and i am thinkin about to set up a linux partition.
i did not convert to ntfs file system, all my partitions are fat32.
i have used partition magic for years but never had to do with linux partitions,
can someone tell me what linux swap and linux ext2 are, which partitions
i will need and what the minimum discspace for these partitions are?

The swap space is used for disk memory and the recomended size is twice you ram. ext2 is the format for the linux file system.

Once you have a partion for linux, The installer should set those two partitions for you.

Use ext3 if possible, the journalizing file system. It's much faster and more reliable.
