On my test server I have suse 8.0 installed. I recently upgraded mysql to the latest version and the database is workign fine.

I tried to run Yast (suse installer) to install some other stuff from the distro cd's but yast reports an error. It says mysql is required and mysql client is required. If I accept it will install the older versions again and write over the updates. If I ignore then yast doesn't run. I just get the "initiating..." message.

Is there a config file or something that I need to alter in order for Yast to see the upgraded versions.

The upgrades I ran where the latest versions from mysql.com as rpm's

I have installed the very same rpm's on other suse 8.0 servers with no problems at all.

Any ideas?

Mack.
