Disk slices and partitions

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out if it is possible to somehow merge our partitions/slices to allow more space on our system for / and /var, without adding another disk. This is the current config:

Filesystem Size Used Avail Capacity Mounted on
/dev/ad0s1a 97M 77M 12M 87% /
/dev/ad0s1f 17G 6.5G 9.5G 41% /usr
/dev/ad0s1e 19M 10M 7.8M 56% /var
/dev/ad2s1e 72G 25G 41G 38% /usr/local/apache/www

I thought it might be possible since their are two /usr partitions.

yes it is possible, there is a gnu program which will allow you to do this, although i forgot the name of this program. Try searching gnu.org
