Did you use the correct internal IP for default gateway?

Did you open open the correct port on the router?

Are any other machines on the network able to acess the web using the same gateway?

Just a few ideas for you.

Sounds like you are trying ot view an external address from within your own network.

I have had a similar situation. I set up my network and assigned a domain to the network. From the outside I am able to type my domain and view my network web server. But from the inside if I type the domain I see the router admin page.

This is because the router is only set up to handle domain requests from outside the network.

My work around was to alter network pc host files to show

www.example.com ser.ver.ip.addres

that way even if I request the domain in the pc, it changes it to the ip address for the actual request.

Think of your network as being a house. Then imagine trying to post a letter to yourself. You need to go outside to do so. Same is true for an external address request.
