how to create an CD image of knoppix on your HDD so that i can boot from the HDD and not from the CD.And how to alter the grub accordingly.. so that i can choose OS from the boot-loader

Upgrade to 3.8 w/UnionFS - if you have a persistent home dir, you can update packages just like a normal install of Debian.
<edit> If you stick w/3.7, then check the FAQ:
"Q: Can one also install the distribution from the CD onto a hard drive?

are you pointing towards the knoppix cheat codes which i found just now on knoppix website . will the cheat code do the trick . i havent understood your messg completely
