Should I ask?

Well I have installed Fedora Core 3 and I like it a lot. I am surprised that there wasn't an open thread about it on here. Although I do have a problem with it. I have an ATI radeon 9600, and I want to be able to use ATI's proprietary driver with the new OS. On ATI's site they only support XFree, but Fedora comes with Xorg. I was successful in slackware with installing this driver even though Slackware came with xorg. So I was wondering if anyone has pulled this off yet in FC3, and if so, how did you do it? I have tried decompressing the rpm into a tgz, then into a tar and then running the scripts in the build_mod directories, (running sh make.sh, then sh make_install.sh). I have also ran the fglrxconfig program to make a Xfree file and renaming it to xorg.conf. Ideas?

Well no one has replied yet, so after crossing many deserts and climbing many mountains, I have found that ATI has no real support for my dilemma. So, from a game related-development standpoint, I am switching to nvidia.
Enough said.
