Apache on Mac OSX. Two questions:

Any free control panel? Why am I not permitted?

Hi,

I have Mac OSX and just launched Apache to use when developing sites instead of uploading to remote dserver all the time for testing purposes.

My remote has CPanel, and I wonder if there's any free similar application that I can install?

Next Q: Since I want the local site to be an exactt clone of the one that eventually will be live on a remote host, I have also started sendmail locally. and made Apache parse the all perl scripts globally. But when testing the mailform, I get an error from the server saying that I don't have the right permissions to access the formmail script in the cgi-bin.

I have used Transmit to set the permission of the perl file to 755, and the bin itself is set to 777.

Is this an ownership thing? If so, to what to I change it?

TIA for suggestions,
D

In response to your second question, check out this listing [macosxhints.com] at masosxhints.com (and these two comments [macosxhints.com] in particular).
