How to choose a good website for backlinks?

Hello! What should I keep in mind when getting a backlink from another website? Things like website traffic, domain authority (DA), page authority (PA), spam score, and any other important factors?

I expect it would be a complete waste of breath to say: Find a site whose human visitors would be interested in and attracted by your site’s content.

Looking at the site's DA, PA, traffic etc is all important. But you also need to take a good look at the site itself to check its UX qualities. Backlinking is an ongoing process, and there are many options for securing good links. I recommend finding some quality business directories and going from there. <snip>

Look for websites that are relevant to your niche or industry. Ensure that the content on the linking site is related to your website's topic and Seek out websites that have a similar target audience as yours.

I've always used two metrics, and they're both personal judgement - because I think these are the metrics that Google's attempting to measure. They are 1) relevance and 2)authority. There's other metrics that are used to estimate the authority, not so much on the relevance part.
If you're selling widgets, is a directory of widget manufacuturers a relevant link? Sure. Is it authoritative? probably not.
Similiarily, is a link from a gov't entity relevant? probably not. Is it authoritative? I'd think so.
ideally I look for both. I'll take one or the other. If they're neither, I don't want them.

Don't look for them, don't promote them, never had a problem with those that linked to me on their own accord. Is there value? Of course. It is important? Kinda sorta. Will it be the magical difference?

ONLY YOUR CONTENT can make that happen. Backlinks alone will not get you to the next level.

The way I see it is the importance is who YOU link to, not who links to you. G knows the difference (and most backlinks generally suck).

Yes I look for 3 factors Relevancy, Authority, and before that History. Because who knows the domain you are looking at is previously something else. Otherwise, your domain's future will be in Danger. So careful.

To all of the above, I would add that you have to aim for a diverse range of link types such as blogs, news sites, forums, social media platforms, directories, and niche-specific websites, etc.

DA, PA,TF CF, DR, Spamcore....so many things to evaluate quality backink of a site
but the most important is the content of site that make quality to the best
