Anyone still use a Tynt-like script for backlinks?

Hi. I'm just wondering what the current view is on using a Tynt-like script to get backlinks. I don't think Tynt are even around anymore, but I've just stumbled across an old script I had that basically did the same thing.

Every time someones copies a chunk of your text a bit of javascript inserts something like "from www.example.com" at the end.

I know it was frowned upon for being a bit annoying for some (easily-annoyed) users, but i've just had a look at some big sites and they still use something similar. So i was just wondering if it was worth sticking on again. Anyone still use it?

This thread popped up on a search. I gotta say, I do quite a bit of copying and pasting off sites. Whenever someone runs one of these scripts that tag the url on to the copy, I close the site and never go back.
