Hi Everyone,

I am having 5 websites with a lot of pages (around 50K pages on each of the websites). I am interlinking them.

These websites are all hosted on the same server (and same IP). And obviously, these interlinks between 5 websites would be considered as same network by Google (I don't mind it as these websites are under same brand name but for different countries).

I asked my hosting company which provides me with dedicated server if I could get some more IPs.

They are giving me IPs from same subnet.

Will it give me any benefit if I have all these 5 websites on different IPs ?

I am not trying to show them as different websites owned by different companies. I am just trying to get more linking benefits from these websites.

I am sure that if I had them from different C class IPs, it would have been more beneficial. But, the host isn't giving that.

Thanks in advance.

IP addresses don't have much SEO impact these days unless they are from a bad neighborhood with a lot of malicious sites. Many well-ranking sites are now hosted through cloud services or CDN networks where they share IP addresses with many other sites. Google will know your sites are interconnected, despite the different IPs, even if they are from different C classes. 4 extra IP addresses will cost you probably around $50 per year, depending on the country and hosting company. That is money you can spend otherwise.

Don’t know how universal this is, but my host charges for IPv4 addresses, while IPv6 are handed out free on request.

Say what you like about search engines, they are not stupid. (Disclaimer: This does not apply to the information dispensed by GSC.)

Unlikely to see any general benefit, and might see one of the five getting more than it's share (your 50k drops to 20k on the others).

Gaming the system is just that. Sometimes you win, most times you lose since all bets are in the House favor (g).

Play if you like.

IP addresses mean nothing these days.

IP4v4 costs because there aren't that many left. IPv6 remains astronomical at the moment. Likely to change once the entire IoT gets hosted...

YMMV
