I googled the email msg and it appears he’s sending this to many sites which is likely a scam. But how does it work?

I got a response from him when I ask to send his content for review. This what he said:

To give you an idea on what we do, we would be looking to write sponsored content for your site. This content would usually come in the form of a 500-word article and would include a ‘do-follow’ link to our client. The writer of the article would spend time on your site and get a feel for tone, style, and the type of content you usually post. They can go and write a tailored article for your blog. You can review, edit and reject the article if you find it not suitable. We want to contribute to your site and pay you for the privilege of posting it. However, we don't divulge the name of our clients or brands at this stage - normally only when the articles are sent over for review.

As long as you are comfortable, we would also request that the post not be marked as ‘sponsored’.

Btw, he uses a gmail address which is suspicious.

Maybe it’s one of those companies that sell links. You can pay companies to find links on five sites with a DR of 30+, or whatever, and even get them to write the content as well. It’s a bit like joining their PBN, except it’s not a PBN that google can find

@derik, but why would he use a gmail email instead of his company name? Can he plant virus on my site if I post his content?

@jbayabas to find decent numbers of sites you need to send out 1000+++ emails. If you would do that from one domain you will get spam block because all emails are look very similar to each other so they need to use different emails.

He cant plant any virus, you will get text that you will post by yourself. Their only target is to get paid backlink from you.

jbayabas, I don't think it's a scam. Like derik says, you put the text on your site yourself and format the link. You just have to decide if you want possibly irrelevant info on your site with a link to a website possibly unrelated to your topic. And find out if the $65 is per month, per year or a one time fee to keep the content on your site forever. If they don't pay you, then take the content down.

This is usually one time fee, and prices going from anywhere between $10 per blog with very low traffic up to $2000 ( could be forbes post). So i guess if they offer you $65 that means you have low-medium traffic site (up to 3k/month) , if you site over 20-30k of organic and in specific niche you can easy ask $200+ per post.
They always targeting sites by niches, those days no one will be posting “health” post on “shopping” site, unless they can make a post that will connect both niches , for ex. “Best shopping site for pills”

The only 1 problem with it is that someone can report it to google, but again technically you are selling sponsored post not link. Its the same when you sell advertising spot on your site - you cant report this because only because someone pays someone for receiving traffic over link.
