Almost every link building article I read these days talks about not building too many links just to your homepage because it looks unnatural. They suggest building links to deep/inner pages of your site. No one states what a good Inbound link Homepage to Inner Pages would be though. Does anyone have a decent idea on a proper ratio?

One of my sites has a 52-48% (Links to Homepage/Inner)ratio now and it's really not getting any traction with new links so I think that's the problem.

I did a study of this across a range of niche topics and found that what is natural in one niche is unnatural in another. So when you talk about what is natural and what is not, the water becomes murky, neither black nor white, making conclusions unreliable.

That makes a ton of sense. Every niche kinda lends itself to a different pattern of deep linking ratio. So G determines the norm for that niche and rocks the boat based on that. Thanks MB

No, no. That's not what I said. If you read my comment, I limited it strictly to what is natural or not natural.
