Actively Remove Spammy Links

Found possible suspicious links - do we need to remove?

Hello,

I've fallen down the rabbit-hole of analyzing back links from referring domains via ahrefs. I'm discovering a ton of sites where frankly, I'm afraid to click on because their URLs and back links look suspicious that I'm afraid I'll get a virus.

A few questions...
How can I determine if these are indeed spammy? My website is a US based e-commerce site. A lot of these sites are in a different language, the fact that the content on those links seems completely irrelevant to the back linked website itself raises a red flag for me.

Some of the URLs I click on redirect to a 000webhost site, others seem to redirect several times, in fact one even opened a download file box which I quickly closed. Here are a few examples of the links or domains:

doqogyci.host56.com/pcl-tear-of-knee.php
ilafiby.site11.com/how-are-braces-made.php
hetigy.comlu.com/ice-machine-for-replaced-knees.php
seocourt.com
timeseduction.gr/el/?option=com_k2&view=itemlist&task=user&id=197440

We don't have any manual actions in Google but should I be cleaning up these back links actively? Is the best way to contact them first? What if I can't find a contact? Do I need to disavow?

Thanks!

I'm also finding a lot of international free hosting sites - are these harmful? The websites I encounter located at these free hosted domains are really low quality. Random text. Empty spaces. Topics that don't make any sense. Can't tell what the site or page is even about.

Most legitimate sites acquire these kinds of links. They're like barnacles. Although barnacles are cleaned off a ships hull by sailors, Google does that automatically by discounting those links so they do not count, either for you or against you. In general it's a best practice to not fix what's not broken.
