I'm a freelance web designer. Is the Chamber of Commerce worth joining to get a link? The domain authority is 50. It cost $375.00 a year. On the plus side I could also pay an additional $200 to reach 2000 businesses via their newsletter.

If you're laying out cash a more productive use of it is thinking in terms of how the investement can be leveraged to building awareness and sales. Nobody will circle your sales funnel and drop into your sales cart if they are unaware of the funnel.
