How can I write this without being specific...

Basically for my company website I need to outline the different types of services we offer. One of the service pages needs a link on the page for further information about it to outline it's environmental benefits. So say, this particular service runs on widgets and I need a page on widgets to explain what widgets are informatively but not at great length.

Which would be the best way of doing this:

1. write my own additional page
2. link to a wikipedia page
3. find a link to another page that looks a bit more formal/ trustworthy, if so how would I get the permission to do this?

the thing that concerns me is it needs to be quite authoritive so I do think it should have an external link rather than a page written by me but what would you think if you were directed to a wiki article? or would you think a page on our site would suffice?

write my own additional page

Without a doubt. If you don't think you can write the article, there must be somebody in the company who can.

write my own additional page
That would be my choice. That doesn't mean I would not put in a link to a Wikipedia page, but original content is the important part.

write my own additional page

I agree also. Expanding on this: write an authoritative page that outshines all that you can find in searches. Tap other internal experts at the company to enhance what you write.

Write your own page, get wikipedia to link to it, and then mention that your page is linked to by wikipedia (but don't necessarily link back to them).

to James2: You can edit their page and add your link to the 'External links' part. But I'm not sure if they will keep your link..
