I am running a wordpress.com blog and uses it to link to my site (using its tagging system)
Now I am just worried will this cause any problem like excessive linking from a site (in this case wordpress blog) to my site ?

Lots of webmasters have a website at their own domain and a blog somewhere else. And link between the two in the same way that they would have done, if their blog had actually been on a subdomain of their main website. It is possible that this may create problems with some search engines, but, personally, I have never heard of an actual case where it was.
Just take care that your links are natural and organic and genuinely helpful for your visitors.

I think any problems that may come up are if you set up hundreds of these blogs. One blog isn't going to make much of difference to your rankings in any way, either negative or positive.

Hello,
No not all wordpress blogs are nofollow,
its the bloggers decision whether they want it to be dofollow or nofollow.

I thought that Wordpress is setup nofollow by default and you have to add an addon to make it Follow?
