Are the following considered the same?
1. Having a link to that page closer to the homepage
2. Actually having that page closer to the homepage in the site architecture
Say I have www.domain.com as my homepage and domain.com/folder as my first directory.
Basically I am asking should I have that file in that folder specifically or will it be the same to have a link pointing to that page on another page at the same level?
Does this make sense?
y = my page of interest
z this is my homepage
zy 1 step down - page lives here and is linked to another page at this level

OR
z this is my homepage
zz 1 step down - page link is at this level
zzy 2 steps down - page lives here
