I am in the process of designing an expandable banner (polite) to be used on other people's websites.
I understand I'll meet a certain level of resistance getting anyone to use it :) but it is just one of a range of banners so I'm not too bothered if only the odd person uses it.

The banner will be designed around a map of a country and my aim is to link the hotpoints on the map to the corresponding 60 regions so that people can go to the region that interests them and of course give me a boost for those pages.

My initial aim was to create 60 links to my inner pages in this way but I'm not sure if this is a good strategy or not? I admit my main aim is to boost my inner pages with links but it is also beneficial for the user too.

Does anyone have any idea what google would make of 60 links pointing to various pages on the same website?

From a technical point of view I am struggling a bit. I can do this in Flash but that's no good for the links.... has anyone done this successfully?

I've used an image map for multiple links within a site; technically, there's zero problem - mine was on my own site, using a SSI, but there's no reason why people shouldn't take that up, if you pay them a fair fee.

I very much doubt that the 'credit' you get will be much different if at all - if the SEs were that easily fooled, there'd be so many multiple-link image maps, the web would drown!

Yeah I'm sure you are right on that. I'm just wondering if it could be seen as a negative in any way. I am keen to bring users straight in to deeper pages.
