I am looking for everyone here to build a list of ideas, tips and thought about building backlinks through means of link bait / viral marketing.
I just built a very nice website with 250 pages of interesting stuff about widgets. There is a good few number of websites on the same topic.
I am looking for tips and tricks to help build backlinks in forums, blogs and basically get people talking online about this new website.
there are going to be 100's of other options as well. this will just start the list.
Watermelons are pretty boring by themselves, but carve britney spears or brad pitt's face in them becomes interesting. Watermelons by themselves are pretty boring, unless of course you film them smashing on the ground when they are thrown from the roof of a building. Watermelons by themselves are pretty boring, unless you dress a hot girl in a bikini made of watermelon skin. Watermelons by themselves are boring unless you create a gourmet feast of 59 separate dishes with watermelon as the main ingredient. As far as finding someone who will wear a watermelon bikini, craigslist would be my top choice, you'll have to do some screening but should have a plethora of choices. Discuss with your own legal team any release requirements.

Link to my site, or the bunny gets it!
The Internet Mob has kidnapped Patches, my favorite stuffed pal from my childhood, and is holding him hostage.
If I don't get 100 people to link to my website by December 15th, poor Patches will meet a tragic end.
Please help me save my old friend!
Please link to my website, and send an eMail to internetmob@someothersite.dom, and let them know where the link is. They will only count one link per website, so please don't upset them by trying to trick them with multiple links from the same site.
Patches was always there for me when I needed him most--please help me return the favor!
