Inbound Links and PR

How many quality inbound links do you need to raise PR above 0?

I have a website with a couple subdomains. One of those sudomains I have recently started to promote, especially in the way of getting inbound links. My page rank for this subdomain's index page is 0 and I have been able to find my 3 links back to my subdomain, (from PR's 2 thru 4), through google by searching for the link text that makes up my links.

However,
If I go to google and do the old, "link:domain.example.com", I can't find any of the links. Is this a case of I found my own links through google before google really did, and that's why the "link:domain.example.com" doesn't yield anything? Or am I screwed? Or do I just need to be more patient?

(And btw, I got those links up maybe a week ago so I'm thinking just be more patient).

You just need to be patient. Google may know about these links but they only update their public link: stats about every quarter.

It is best to check your links on MSN/Live.com or Yahoo (use linkdomain:www.example.com)

If you have more questions about Google Search you should post that in the appropriate forum. If you do a little research you will find your answer there because it's a frequently asked question.
