We know that in search engines the good websites are ranked higher than the bad ones depending upon their overall performance. So if a website is automatically placed high in search engines it doesnt need to spend on sponsored adds. Again if I am a visitor and am aware of this I would opt not to go to the sites sponsoring.
Can you also please explain the what do you mean by "sponsored link value" ..

But this is what I think you are asking.
Sponsored links, are basically just your
keyword/ anchor text with a HMTL link to your site.
PR is like water in a bucket.
If there is high PR it will flow to your site,
providing yours is lower, and that there arent
100 other holes (links) on that page.
So YES they can inproove the PR of your website
and your SERP for the anchor text
